Perhaps, the most puzzling part of the [Belgian Intelligence Services] report is what it does not mention. Although most countries are extremely concerned about China investments in their Telecom infrastructure, the Belgian report is silent on this issue. Why, on earth, why?”

Brussels is apparently the new City of spies. The internal security service of the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels has warned European diplomats and military officials against espionage by Russian and Chinese intelligence services.
According to the EEAS Security Services, about 250 Chinese and 200 Russian spies are working in the European capital. (Intel Today suspects that these numbers may be seriously underestimates.)
The EEAS security service has warned diplomats against entering certain pubs and restaurants in the EU buildings neighborhood.
“The diplomats said they also warned against entering certain EU neighborhoods, including a popular steakhouse and café within walking distance of the main building of the European Commission (Berlaymont) and the EEAS service building.
According to the security service, in earlier times Russian agents were most frequently represented in the European capital.
Concrete figures were not mentioned in this context. According to internal security services, the Chinese and Russian intelligence agents work in Brussels primarily at the embassies or commercial representations of their home countries.” – WELT
In Brussels, it is also an open secret that attachés accompanying diplomats from third countries at receptions in embassies are often undercover agents.
In addition to Russian and Chinese, American and Moroccan agents in particular are said to be active in Brussels.
