France — Former Intel Service Boss : “We Made Secret Deal with Abu Nidal”

“We made a kind of verbal deal in which I said I don’t want any more attacks on French soil and in return I’ll let you come to France and I guarantee nothing will happen to you.”

Yves Bonnet — Former head of France’s intelligence service (Interview with investigating magistrates in January 2019)

“Let me take, for example the Lockerbie case and also the case of the Ténéré [UTA] that were blamed on Libya when all intelligence services know that these attacks were committed by Ahmed Jibril under the inspiration and funding from Iran.”

Yves Bonnet — Former DST Director

Sabri Khalil al-Banna (May 1937 – 16 August 2002), known as Abu Nidal, was the founder of Fatah: The Revolutionary Council, a militant Palestinian splinter group more commonly known as the Abu Nidal Organization (ANO). At the height of its power in the 70s and 80s, the ANO was widely regarded as the most ruthless of the Palestinian groups.

August 10 2019 — French newspaper Le Parisien reported on Friday that Yves Bonnet — former head of France’s intelligence service — has admitted negotiating a “secret deal” with the Abu Nidal terrorist group.  Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY

The Abu Nidal Organisation was considered one of the most ruthless of the Palestinian militant groups, responsible for attacks in 20 countries which killed more than 300 people, including in Rome and Vienna airports in 1985.

In January of this year, Yves Bonnet told investigators that he agreed the Abu Nidal group’s members could continue travelling to France if they carried out no more attacks on French soil.

“And it worked. There were no further attacks between the end of 1983 and the end of 1985 … afterwards, they carried out attacks in Italy, for example, but that did not concern me as long as there was nothing on French soil.”

According to Bonnet, French president François Mitterrand’s chief of staff was informed of the deal, but investigators were kept in the dark.

Families of the victims of a 1982 terrorist attack in Paris are demanding a parliamentary inquiry.

Intel Today has mentioned Bonnet a couple of times in the past, in the context of the Lockerbie Affair and regarding his role in the Farewell Dossier.

Yves Bonnet and Lockerbie

Yves Bonnet was the DST Director November 1982 to August 1985.

In the following interview, Bonnet makes a remarkable allegation: he claims that Libya is NOT responsible for Lockerbie!

Here is a ‘rough’ translation of the interview.

David Delos : “You are currently writing a book on Libyan terrorism in the 80s. Any revelations?”

Yves Bonnet : “This is not a book about to the terrorist activities of  Libya, because I think that, on this subject as on many others, we have far exceeded the limits of the truth and indeed credibility.

Let me take, for example the Lockerbie case and also the case of the Ténéré that were blamed on Libya when all intelligence services know that these attacks were committed by Ahmed Jibril under the inspiration and funding from Iran.

We know this. The American Intelligence Agencies know it, the MOSSAD knows it, the DGSE knows it  and, in fact,  the then Director of the DGSE – Claude Silberzahn – was not shy to say it out loud.

You know, in French, ‘La Libye” and “L’alibi” sound the same….

I think Libya has become — because of the personality of its chief Muammar Gaddafi — a rather convenient target country.”

  1. Allan twat says:

The uta crash was caused by metal fatigue or the forward cargo door opened as if you have seen the report the nose section departed the aircraft first as it landed 5 or 6 km before the main body of the aircraft just like the Lockerbie case and both aircraft where flying on expired air worthy certificates as both aircraft where only certified for 60,000 hours
